Why Triple Crown Treks Exists

You don't need to hike thousands of miles to experience the magic of a long-distance trail. That's the whole idea behind this company.

Meet Katie “Trip”

I Had Camped Once Before Hiking the PCT.

In 2024, I backpacked the Pacific Crest Trail — hiking from Mexico to Canada and covering over 2,200 miles. It was the adventure of a lifetime, and one that completely changed me. I didn't grow up camping or backpacking. Before the PCT I had only camped once in my life, and I had no idea how to set up a tent, filter water, or plan for days in the wilderness.

Those first weeks were hard. I struggled, made mistakes, and relied on the kindness of other hikers to teach me the basics. But step by step, I figured it out — and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with backpacking, with the trail, and with life itself. The trail gave me confidence, perspective, and a deep sense of connection I'd been searching for.

That's why I created Triple Crown Treks: to share the magic of trail life and make it accessible to everyone. If you've ever dreamed of trying backpacking but felt intimidated or didn't know how to begin — I've been there. Now I want to be the guide that helps you take your first steps with confidence.

From the PCT to Triple Crown Treks

Why the Name?

In the world of long-distance hiking, the Triple Crown refers to the three longest hiking trails in the U.S. — the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail — over 7,000 miles of wild terrain, mountain passes, and life-changing moments. Completing all three is my personal dream, and this company was born from that same spirit of adventure. As we grow, we'll guide treks across each of these legendary trails, so you can experience the magic of the Triple Crown, one section at a time.

Our Philosophy

Small Groups. Real Trail Life.

The PCT is really just a series of 5–7 day backpacking trips, repeated over and over. Let Triple Crown Treks be your first one. We keep groups small on purpose — so guiding feels personal, not transactional, and every hiker gets real attention and real trail skills, not just a scenic walk.
